Looking down the road. The Smackdown World Title is in an interesting place at the moment with champion Randy Orton getting ready to defend against a “Monday Night Raw” talent in a House of Horrors match at “Payback 2017”. While it’s not clear what a House of Horrors match is yet, it’s clear that whoever wins is going to need a new #1 contender. As luck would have it, we’ll have a new one of those by the end of tomorrow night’s show.

As announced on “Monday Night Raw”, there will be a Six Pack Challenge on “Smackdown Live” to determine a new #1 contender. While the names were never officially announced, the graphics seemed to indicate that the participants will be Luke Harper, Erick Rowan, Sami Zayn, Jinder Mahal, Mojo Rawley and Dolph Ziggler. No specific date for the title match was announced but it will be after “Payback 2017”.

Opinion: I would have bet on Baron Corbin as the next challenger but this opens some interesting doors. Then again there’s always the chance that the winner of this match will have their title shot on TV instead of headlining a pay per view. There are some interesting options there but there are also some horrible choices, such as Ziggler, Rowan and Mahal.
