Former WWE Superstar Jack Swagger made his MMA debut at Bellator 214 tonight. Competing under his real name of Jake Hager, was the former World Heavyweight Champion successful in defeating his opponent in J.W. Kiser?
The short answer is yes. Swagger did indeed pick up the victory.
In the past few weeks, Swagger has been involved with the media in answering questions about his upcoming debut against Kiser. The former WWE Superstar cited his training as an amateur wrestler and his background in sports would help him prevail.
Furthermore, Swagger was asked about the careers of Brock Lesnar and CM Punk within the MMA world and what their issues were. You can hear his comments in the video below.
Swager applied an arm triangle to Kiser in their match- defeating his opponent in the first round at 2:09. This was all it took for the wrestler to prove his doubters wrong and back up everything he’d said in the lead-up to the bout.

There is no confirmed date for Swagger’s next fight, given that he just competed tonight. However, his decisive victory over his opponent is likely to result in the former WWE Superstar getting a second match sooner than later.
Editor’s Note:
I’m proud to know a wrestler has really succeeded in the industry. Punk definitely didn’t, as much as I would have liked to see him succeed. Lesnar did, though many have recently come out and said he didn’t earn the accomplishments he received from being in UFC.
Did you expect Swagger to win? Do you think he’ll capture any titles or awards in Bellator?
