The newsletter has noted that the negotiations between FOX and UFC aren’t going well. This is significant as FOX is seeking out WWE if that deal falls through.
The SportsBusiness Journal recently reported that FOX offered UFC $200 million per year. This amount is far less than the $450 million annual that UFC wants. In addition, UFC is averaging $120 million per year on their current deal, with the fee for the final year being $160 million.
The Sporting News recently had a story that FOX is actually more interested in securing the television rights for WWE as opposed to renewing their contract with UFC.
The current deal WWE has with NBC Universal / USA Network expires on September 30th, 2019.
A move to FOX would see ‘Raw’ be cut back to two hours and be on their main channel on Monday nights, while ‘SmackDown Live’ would move to FS1 on Tuesday nights.
A source had the following to tell The Sporting News:
“[Fox] is definitely trying to get [the WWE]. They’ll pass on UFC, then use ‘Raw’ for [Fox Broadcasting] and FS1 content.”
It was noted in the newsletter that FOX could acquire WWE’s television rights for a similar amount of what they offered UFC, while WWE actually delivers higher ratings than UFC.

Would you rather WWE stay with USA Network or leave for someplace else? Can you watch a different channel?
