PWInsider note that Hardy has hired an IP lawyer out of Nashville, TN. The aim is to help acquire the ‘broken’ trademark and thus the ability to use the gimmick in WWE.
Hardy reportedly submitted a CWF Mid-Atlantic Wrestling promotional poster featuring him under the ‘broken’ gimmick during the Hardy Boyz “Expedition of Gold” tour after the USPTO refused his trademark registration earlier this year, back in May for “unacceptable specimens/documents provided as proof of use.”
It is unknown if this poster will be enough proof for Hardy to win the rights to the gimmick. That said, Wrestling Rumors will continue to update you as more information develops on the legal battle between Anthem & TNA Entertainment vs. The Hardy Boyz.
While not the same poster in question, here is an idea of what Hardy would have likely sent:
This is obviously the one TNA used on their programming to promote the CWF match that Hardy was to have at the time. The one that Hardy would have sent will have been created by CWF and feature other wrestlers on their roster, such as Trevor Lee and Brad Attitude.
If you never experienced what the ‘broken’ gimmick is, one suggestion we can make is to watch the “Final Deletion” video we have included down below.
