According to a recent article by WrestlingInc, WWE is returning to Madison Square Garden on Friday, July 7 for a “Raw” Live Event, and Shinsuke Nakamura made the card, despite being a “Smackdown Live” superstar.
Nakamura is scheduled to work against nemesis Dolph Ziggler on the card. Meanwhile, recent “NXT” call-up Elias Samson was scheduled to make his MSG debut during that show, but was pulled alongside appearances from Goldust, Curt Hawkins, Bo Dallas, Titus O’Neil, Apollo Crews, R-Truth, Rhyno, Heath Slater and Kalisto.
The new card for the event is as follows:
- Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns
- Samoa Joe vs. Seth Rollins
- Finn Balor vs. Karl Anderson with Luke Gallows
- The Miz vs. Dean Ambrose
- Austin Aries vs. Neville
- Cesaro & Sheamus vs. The Hardyz
- Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Dolph Ziggler
It is unknown if these changes are due to a WWE Network special. However, Wrestling Rumors will keep you up to date on the status of the MCG show and Nakamura’s appearance.
Editor’s Note:
Any time there is a show held at Madison Square Garden, I get excited. They are arguably some of the biggest Live Events that WWE does. It is interesting that a bunch of superstars on the “Raw” roster were unfortunately removed, but I guess they wanted more high profile matches to attract a larger audience. We’ll surely see over time, anyway.
