With ‘Slammiversary’ just around the corner and Jeff Jarrett is ensuring he takes full advantage of that, doing a wealth of press meetings and interviews to continue promoting Impact Wrestling.

Broken Matt™ wrestling: Healing Of Jeff Hardy

Jeff Jarrett spoke to Wrestle: List where he spoke about the upcoming ‘Slammiversary 15’ pay-per-view and the situation between Impact Wrestling and The Hardy Boyz, causing Reby Hardy to respond.

Jarrett first speaks in good length about the ‘Slammiversary 15’ card, explaining the matches and how prestigious each of them are. He also discusses partnerships and bringing content to fans.

“A lot of people have asked me over the last week or so, “Jeff, give me a reason to watch Slammiversary,” and I really can say this with all sincerity – if you’ve ever watched one programme, or if you’ve ever been a fan on TNA/Impact, if you’ve ever bought a t-shirt, if Don West has ever sold you anything, this is an unmissable event.”

“Obviously this is a 15-year celebration that we are all very excited about and the card is stacked top-to-bottom. A mega main event in Alberto [El Patron] versus Lashley title-for-title – we’ve just recently announced a truly iconic legend from the lucha-libre world, Alberto’s father, Dos Caras – one of the top three most famous luchadors of all time – is going to be in Alberto’s corner. And then you just go all the way down the list: Low Ki versus Sonjay [Dutt] in the X Division and both of those guys are truly pioneers, and X Division was here since day one; we’ve got a title situation with luchadors and stars from NOAH and LAX; our current dual GFW and Impact champions; and we’re speaking to American Football star DeAngelo Williams and Moose, a former NFL player in his right, are in a Tag Title match; Sienna versus Rosemary. I could go on – Joseph Park and Jeremy Borash, one of the UK’s favourites, actually stepping into the ring, and Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner. I could go on and on about the card but all things have come together.”

“The PR fever here in the States, whether it’s ESPN or Sporting News or FOX Sports or Sports Illustrated. Robert Flores has come on to be play-by-play, with a 20-year career in broadcasting sports – he currently works for NHL and MLB. It just is a huge, huge night for us, we are celebrating 15 years and all the pieces of the puzzle are coming together. Everybody is super excited, it’s just one of those unmissable events and it’s very, very hard to come by, but Anthem and the new ownership basically stepped in January 1 and I consulted for about a month and really got on board early March and here we are, and the fans in the UK get to see it less than 24 hours after it takes place on Spike TV, for free actually. Spike – a fantastic partnership and then we came on in April, the ratings and the numbers and the viewership far exceeded their expectations and the momentum going in. We’ve had a couple of hiccups but that’s in our rear-view mirror. We’re very excited and really looking forward to the future. I couldn’t be more excited.”

Jarrett then explains that he takes the high road in situations such as the one Impact is in with the Hardyz, explaining that he has experience and knows that Impact owns the rights to the broken gimmick and it hasn’t ever been in question.

“I always take the high road because there is legal squabbles or potential legal squabbles but I have said this to a couple of outlets, and I say this with very broad strokes – I am from Nashville so I am around music which is intellectual property and I have been in the business 30 years. Intellectual property laws are very simple, there are two sides to it; there are publishers and the writers, then there are the performers as well. Jeff Hardy has been one of my best friends for 20 years, you can look on my social media and their social media, and we take family vacations together but business is business. So when it relates to IP it’s real simple, there is a publisher who owns the property, there is a writer who gets credit and can monetize it, then there is the performers. There is no question that Broken Matt and Brother Nero’s performances were off the charts good. But when it comes to ownership to me its almost a silly squabble, it’s never been in question. Impact are the owners.”

This would ultimately lead to Reby Hardy, the wife of Matt Hardy to explain her thoughts on the situation via a series of tweets today on her Twitter account.

Reby would then share the following:

It is likely that this situation will continue to develop, so Wrestling Rumors will continue to update as this story continues to grow between The Hardy Boyz and Impact Wrestling.

Editor’s Note:

First of all, I am excited for ‘Slammiversary 15’ as I think the card looks fantastic with some amazing looking matches to be in store for us. However, I do believe Reby and her family are in the right here. Don’t know how good sharing information on what Jarrett got in trouble for as this could be used against Reby for sharing.
