Daniel Bryan’s last few weeks have been nothing short of extraordinary, with his latest win being removed as the general manager of SmackDown Live so he can resume competing in the squared circle.

To open the show, Shane McMahon welcomes the crowd as he resumes his responsibilities as Commissioner. He explains that he accepted Bryan’s resignation from the General Manager job.

To the surprise of everyone in attendance and those watching around the world, former Absolution leader Paige is announced as the new General Manager.

Paige explains that she had no idea that the general manager position would be hers until she had already left ring following her retirement announcement on Raw. She expresses her gratitude to McMahon for the opportunity.

The first match Paige confirms is Bryan vs. AJ Styles.  This will be Bryan’s first non-PPV match since his return to the ring alongside McMahon against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 34.

Despite her retirement from the ring, it appears as we recently reported, Paige will resume being a member of the Total Divas cast for the latest season.
