Mick Foley already teased earlier in the year that the role of Raw GM might open up soon, and his recent appearance on The Ross Report only serves to add fuel to that fire. However, he does seem optimistic enough about his position to believe that he won’t be out of a job by next week.

“I really feel fortunate that I was given the opportunity to be the GM,” Foley said to Jim Ross on his show. “I think it’s going pretty well, so well that I’m just like, I don’t see the firing that I thought was imminent when I took [the job].”

Foley doesn’t mask the fact that he knows his days are numbered, though. “It’s coming and we know it’s coming,” he said. “Like, it’s not a long tenured position, especially if they put an emphasis on you.” This seems to align with prior reports that suggest Foley isn’t under any sort of permanent contract for televised appearances.

Ultimately, Foley hopes that when his time as Raw GM comes to an end and the job is available again that it will turn into a good storyline. “Really, the big thing is hoping it pays off for somebody,” he said. “When my time is up, I hope Stephanie gets a heck of a promo out of it and it helps somebody.”
