PWInsider.com is reporting that WWE’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view will be held on May 4 at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J. Tickets for the event will go on sale on Feb. 22, with the pre-sale occurring just beforehand.

This is an update to the reports that there was a possibility that Daniel Bryan could be receiving a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at the event, which had been rumored to be held in his home state of Washington. Word began circulating that Bryan would be in line to face Triple H at WrestleMania, with a win giving him a title shot at Extreme Rules with a home crowd.

Last week, Key Arena officials in Seattle denied that the event would be held there, which now appears true. While the Bryan reports had merely been rumors, it is unconfirmed at this time as to whether the location change will have any effect on future plans.

It should be noted that the Izod Center has been a spot for hot WWE crowds in the past, including the night after WrestleMania 29 just last year.
