With already one former WWE star confirmed for an “Impact Wrestling” debut, TNA has announced a return of its own. And like the aforementioned debut, it too took place on Thursday night’s “Impact” tapings in the U.K.
Former TNA Knockouts and WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James made her return to the company at the shows, which was confirmed by the company’s official website:
“Mickie James made a surprise return to IMPACT Wrestling tonight in Glasgow! Stay updated at IMPACTWrestling.com for all the latest news!”
James, who has a child with fellow TNA star Magnus, had been fielding dates on the independent circuit since having the child, and doing work with her music career. She last appeared on “Impact” in September of 2013, but also starred in a “One Night Only” pay-per-view in December of that year.
James, 35, is a three-time Knockouts Champion, and five-time WWE Women’s Champion. She also captured the Divas Championship one time before departing the company in 2010. She worked as a guest trainer in NXT back in 2013 as well, but only for a week.
Editor’s Note
She’s a little old for the WWE mold at this point, though I’m sure she’ll be a Hall of Famer down the line. Good for her.
