“Stone Cold” Steve Austin captivated many longtime wrestling fans with his podcast specials on the WWE Network with Vince McMahon and Triple H. But while the events may have been popular, his “no holds-barred” approach may have put him in deep water with the chairman of the board.
According to a new report from Dave Meltzer, McMahon and Austin reportedly have had a falling out as a result of questions asked on “The Steve Austin Show” with Triple H as guest.
Melzter speculates the main issue of concern stems from a question Austin asked Triple H regarding his former girlfriend Chyna and whether WWE would ever put her in the WWE Hall of Fame. While Triple H was seemingly honest in his answer, it reportedly sparked controversy backstage. McMahon was said to be upset she was brought to the limelight, given her controversial past as a porn star. As has been said in the past, this is the primary reason she has not been discussed as a serious candidate for the hall as of yet.
Austin will be replaced going forward with Chris Jericho for the network specials. He will have his first interview with John Cena next week after “Monday Night Raw.” Austin’s future status with WWE is unknown at this point.
Editor’s Note
I was curious as to whether Chyna would cause controversy, and it appears it did. A shame.
