Rumors have been circulating for some time former WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee may be on her way out of the company. With the announcement of her real-life husband CM Punk joining the world of UFC, the speculation has mounted furthermore.

According to a new report from PWInsider, there is a growing belief Lee is finishing up with the company following her rematch for the Divas Championship at Sunday’s “TLCS” pay-per-view.

Lee accepted the “Diva of the Year” Slammy Award this past Monday night on “RAW,” and gave the proverbial “rub” to several other of the Divas in the locker room, saying next year may be their year. She then went on to cryptically say she wasn’t giving up the thrown “yet,” and plugged her match against Nikki Bella at the pay-per-view.

There had originally been a belief she would be leaving in November following “Survivor Series,” though she has obviously stayed on board since. She is a three-time Divas Champion, and had her break-out program alongside Daniel Bryan and CM Punk in 2012 just following WrestleMania XXVIII.

Since then, she has served as General Manager of “RAW,” managed Dolph Ziggler and been active as a singles competitor.

Editor’s Note

If this truly is the end for AJ, it’s been a heck of a run. I believe it when I see it, because she worked hard to get there, but she has earned the right to ride off. This should transition some new Divas into position as well.
