Tuesday, Wrestling Rumors noted former WCW and WWE Superstar Scott Steiner was reportedly under investigation by police for threats made against the life of Hulk Hogan. TMZ reported Steiner approached Hogan’s wife at the airport just before WrestleMania weekend, and threatened he would kill her husband when he saw him next.
A new report from the same outlet features a response from Steiner himself.
According to TMZ, Steiner has adamantly refused the allegations against him which included touching Hogan’s wife. He told the tabloid:
“I’m not going to dignify [Hogan’s] lies, I didn’t put my hands on her.”
While Steiner did acknowledge he approached Hogan’s wife Jennifer, he says it was over something very different. Instead, Steiner had a gripe with the fact Hogan was inducting “Macho Man” Randy Savage into the WWE Hall of Fame later that weekend.
“I told her Hulk introducing ‘Macho Man’ into the Hall of Fame is bullsh*t,” he said. “He hated him. Everyone knew that.”
Steiner claimed he had not been contacted regarding an investigation, but instead offered some parting words towards Hogan:
“It’s not my fault Hulk Hogan is afraid of me.”
Rumors spread rampant WWE had banned Steiner from Levi’s Stadium for WrestleMania after news of the threats went around backstage. WWE has yet to comment on the situation.
