Vignettes for the return of former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus have been airing on and off on WWE television for the past several months. “The Celtic Warrior” has been off WWE programming since just before “Survivor Series,” where he was originally slated to be part of Team Cena against The Authority, but taken out.
With speculation pointing to a return at WrestleMania for the former champ, a new report indicates where exactly he may be making an impact on the show.
According to MetsFan4Ever on Reddit, an alleged WWE insider, talks have circulated lately around Sheamus returning during the Intercontinental Championship ladder match as a surprise entrant. The rumor states should he return in the match, he would act overly “heelish,” which would serve as momentum into a straight on heel-turn post-WrestleMania.
As per the user, the rumor is Bryan would win the title at WrestleMania, and then Sheamus would be full on heel and feud with him over it. The two were originally slated to wrestle at the big show in a program together.
While the rumor has credibility, it should be noted MetsFan4Ever has been largely inaccurate over the past several months, leading many to believe said user may not have the credibility once thought.
Editor’s Note
It sounds like it’s a lot of stirring the pot. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the match, and if the titles are being elevated, it makes more sense, but I’d still take this with a grain of salt. Acting “heelish” in a match with a ton of other guys may be hard to perceive.
