Monday night following “RAW,” Paul Heyman and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin dominated the wrestling world with their podcast on the WWE Network. The two discussed their respective wrestling careers, dabbling into stories of Heyman’s past and his current doings in WWE. It appears the podcast was no coincidence regarding “the advocate,” as new reports indicate Heyman is expected to return to WWE television after “Money in the Bank” airs on the WWE Network.
According to PWInsider, the word backstage is following the pay-per-view on June 14, Heyman will begin to once again appear regularly on WWE programming. This will build towards a return for the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Brock Lesnar.
Lesnar’s upcoming involvement is still unknown. He is being promoted for WWE events starting in June, and is advertised for the “Battleground” pay-per-view in July. He will also be wrestling a live event in Japan, taking on Kofi Kingston, his first live event match in more than a decade.
Many will recall, Lesnar was “suspended” from WWE by Stephanie McMahon after brutalizing Michael Cole on the post-WrestleMania edition of “RAW.” It was considered an indefinite suspension, so there is no word at this time on how they plan to write him back on to television.
Notable of Heyman’s appearance on Austin’s podcast was the tease of Austin wrestling at WrestleMania 32. The seeds were planted for a potential match between Lesnar and “The Rattlesnake,” a match that was scheduled to take place on “RAW” back in 2002 but ultimately led to Austin walking out on the company. “Stone Cold” said if the bout were to take place at WrestleMania, it would have to be under Texas Death Match rules.
Heyman has largely been absent from WWE television since Lesnar’s disappearance, though he has been involved in WWE Network programming.

Bring it on. Time for the Summer of Lesnar.
