Triple H named John Bradshaw Layfield the new General Manager of NXT at this Thursday night’s NXT tapings in Orlando.

With the announcement, the WWE COO relieved Dusty Rhodes of his duties in charge of NXT. This will further the current Rhodes/McMahon storyline that is being played off on WWE television currently.

This past Monday night saw former Superstar Goldust, brother of the recently “fired” Cody Rhodes, go up against Randy Orton to try to save his brother’s job. It appears as though this storyline will carry beyond WWE programming.
