Former WWE announcer Josh Mathews was spotted outside TNA offices on Tuesday, resulting in the company writing an article it would quickly rebuke. But that hasn’t kept the 33-year-old from making comment about his former employer on Twitter.
Mathews was praised by a fan recently, and in response, took a bit of a shot at the other WWE announcers on-hand.
“@33jhenry: @realjoshmathews awesome & u was one of my fav announcers @WWE”. thx. But after @JRsBBQ was forced out wasn’t much competition.

Mathews was released on June 12 alongside several other WWE personnel. His release was primarily viewed as a result of budget cuts, ultimately, as WWE was attempting to make up for losses from the WWE Network.
The company had also viewed more stock in Renee Young, which has resulted in her taking over main hosting duties with some commentary for various programs.
Editor’s Note
He’s not wrong, certainly. The play-by-play and color commentary in WWE is far from its strongest points. In fact, it’s rather distracting from what is going on in the ring, often.
