This week, it was noted Jeff Jarrett was going all-in on attempting to bring in talent for Global Force Wrestling and its upcoming live television tapings in Las Vegas. He has been going after several former WWE and TNA talent, trying to bring name recognition to the brand in order to best bring the product to life.

In an update, it appears Jarrett has secured a famous wrestling name as his first officially advertised talent for the promotion.

Legendary manager and promoter Jim Cornette announced on his podcast he has signed with the organization to be part of its “Grand Slam” tour events in Tennessee in June. They will occur June 12 and 13 in Jackson and Knoxville respectively.

Jarrett will also be throwing out the first pitch, per PWInsider, at the Mississippi Braves minor league game Friday night. This will be where GFW will be holding a live event June 20.

It is unknown at this time if Cornette will stay on with GFW past the live event tour, but it is certainly possible. Cornette has worked with Jarrett multiple times in his career, including his time in WWE and TNA.

Editor’s Note

This shouldn’t be much of a surprise. Since he departed Ring of Honor, he’s been relatively low-key, and could make an impact here.
