Tuesday, Wrestling Rumors noted TNA Tag Team Champion Jeff Hardy recently suffered a broken leg in a biking accident, caught on tape by his brother Matt. At the time, his prognosis was unknown.
Early Wednesday however, TNA President Dixie Carter provided an update on Hardy, including giving specifics as to what the injury is:
.@JEFFHARDYBRAND is resting comfortably. Broke his Tibia bone. Having surgery later today to repair it. Thx for all ur well wishes for him.

The diagnosis isn’t good for Hardy. According to OrthoInfo, the typical recovery time from a broken tibia is between four and six months. This, in all likelihood, means Hardy will have to vacate his tag team championship. Video of Hardy’s injury can be seen below. Viewer discretion is advised, as it is graphic:
Ironically, the Hardy brothers won the TNA Tag Team Championship after The Wolves were forced to vacate it because Eddie Edwards also injured his leg, leaving him out for an extended period of time.
As noted Tuesday, the two have held both the WWE and TNA Tag Team titles, alongside multiple singles championships. Jeff has been the most successful of the two, becoming WWE Champion, World Heavyweight Champion, Intercontinental Champion, Light Heavyweight Champion, European Champion, Hardcore Champion, and TNA World Heavyweight Champion.
