Christian has been a presence in wrestling for the better part of the last 20 years. However, it appears the end may be nearing for “Captain Charisma” in regards to his in-ring future for WWE.
According to a report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the 40-year-old has been cleared to return to ring action for some time now. However, the company does not have anything for him.
Moreover, there is said to be a belief WWE believes he is too fragile to return to the ring. He has been out of action since the beginning of the spring season, when he suffered a concussion in pursuit of the Intercontinental Championship. It is at this point speculation began on his future in wrestling.
As noted in the aforementioned link, there has been discussion of his ring career coming to an end, with him then signing on as a producer or trainer in the WWE developmental system, since many find him to be a valuable wrestling mind. He has yet to comment on the matter, however, despite appearing on several WWE shoots, such as the pre-shows for “Raw” and pay-per-views.
Editor’s Note
Always was a fan of the captain, and he will be a WWE Hall of Famer for sure. However, I think it may be time. And he would definitely be great in any role assigned to him, especially as a heel color commentator.
