Last week, Chris Jericho revealed he would be returning to work with WWE this upcoming summer. He noted he had signed on for 19 WWE live events, including several overseas, and even left the door open to returning to television.
Following the injury to NXT Superstar Hideo Itami, Jericho will now have his hands full with another one of NXT’s finest while he is wrestling in Japan.
According to the Japanese version of WWE’s main site, Jericho is now set to square-off with Finn Bálor while the company is in Japan for two dates in July. Jericho was previously set to face Itami at the two shows.
The company is touting it as a dream matchup between stars of two different generations. It notes the two have experience wrestling in Japan, and will be tangling up for the first time.
Earlier Tuesday, Bálor teased a new look of body paint. The art is expected to debut at either next week’s “NXT Takeover: Unstoppable” special event or the upcoming live event in Philadelphia.
Meanwhile, Jericho was recently announced as the host of the revived “WWE Tough Enough.” The show will debut on the USA Network in June.

Holy dream match. I’m sure they’ll tear down the house.
