Independent wrestler and former Ring of Honor star Adam Pearce announced his retirement from professional wrestling this week, following a career that lasted 18 years. Pearce laced up the boots after a match with Colt Cabana at a taping for CWH television.
Below is fan video of his retirement speech.
At the end of the speech, Pearce teased he is not done in the wrestling industry. This is because there is speculation he may be on his way to WWE to work in NXT as a developmental coach.
Several weeks ago, F4WOnline reported the 36-year-old had several tryouts with WWE to see if he would fit the job description as a potential mentor for NXT talent. The company often brings in former wrestlers or talent from around the industry to help work with the up and coming Superstars of tomorrow, both in the ring and outside it.
While there is no official confirmation at this time, it was said Pearce did well in his tryout and the door could be open for him to step in. Pearce never wrestled in WWE during his career.
Editor’s Note
The man is incredibly experienced and would fit well in helping independent wrestlers transition to the big stage. I’d be open to it.
