Former NXT Champion Adrian Neville has been a mainstay in WWE developmental for the past two years. In that time, the man formerly known as “Pac” has wowed WWE fans with his athleticism and aerial assault, all while holding the NXT Championship for nearly an entire year.

Now, it appears Neville is on his way to the main roster.

According to a report from PWInsider, officials in WWE are working on a new gimmick for Neville to debut on the main roster with sooner rather than later. As per the outlet, the new gimmick is based around the old cartoon character Mighty Mouse. The concept behind Mighty Mouse was despite his small size, he was strong and powerful, which is the aura WWE will attempt to give Neville.

At just 5-foot-9 and under 200 lbs., Neville doesn’t exactly fit the prototypical build of a major WWE Superstar. This is the reason the gimmick will be shaped in this fashion.

Neville lost his NXT Championship to Sami Zayn at “NXT Takeover: R Evolution” in what many heralded as one of the best matches of 2014. He will be making his Madison Square Garden debut as WWE takes to Manhattan the day after Christmas for its annual big live event in New York City.

Editor’s Note

It seems to fit his persona, and should translate well. I’m excited to see him go.
