Reports from PWinsider.com have given a possible explanation as to why the Wrestlemania 1 main event is not featured in WWE 2K14, the upcoming video game release from the WWE and 2K Sports. It seems that WrestleMania 1’s main event, which featured Mr. T and Hulk Hogan (w/ Jimmy Snuka) taking on “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff (w/ Cowboy Bob Orton), isn’t a part of the game’s “30 Years of WrestleMania” mode due to negotiations with Mr. T.
PWinsider.com is reporting that this main event was passed over because 2K Sports could not make a deal with Mr. T to have his likeness appear in the game. Many fans responded to the absence of this match, and of Piper, almost immediately upon discovering that they would not be included in this game.
Piper could still be added to the game in a DLC Legends pack, but the fact that the first main event of the first WrestleMania is not featured in the “30 Years of WrestleMania” mode of WWE 2K14.
WWE 2K14 will be available in the US on October 29th, and available every where else November 1st.
