The following post contains major spoilers for TNA Slammiversary, and next week’s episode of Impact Wrestling.

At the May 2nd Impact Wrestling television taping, “The Icon” Sting defeated Matt Morgan in the main event, to earn a shot at Bully Ray and the World Heavyweight Championship on June 2nd at TNA’s upcoming Slammiversary pay-per-view.

The first-ever TNA Hall of Famer made his return to the company on May 25th to save general manager and long-time rival Hulk Hogan from an attack by the Aces & Eights. It will have been exactly one year since “The Icon” found himself in a World title match, as he lost in the main event of Slammiversary 2012, to Bobby Roode. This will be the fourth year in a row that Sting main events TNA’s annual Slammiversary pay-per-view.
