During this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, The Shield picked up debatably the biggest victory of their career thus far, as Dean Ambrose stole a pinfall over Daniel Bryan. The match was a blockbuster 6-man tag featuring The Undertaker’s return to London, and in-ring competition alongside his brother Kane.
The Undertaker was just another legendary name added to the laundry list of opponents defeated by the self-proclaimed “Hounds of Justice”. In their debut match – a TLC contest, no less – The Shield knocked off Kane, Daniel Bryan, and the monstrous Ryback. They then turned their intention to John Cena, who they claimed had plagued the WWE with a “decade of injustice”.
The Shield defeated Cena, and his tag team partners of Ryback and Sheamus at WWE’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in February, in only their second match. Ryback suffered a third loss to the group along with Sheamus and Chris Jericho the following night on Raw. Their winning streak continued at WrestleMania XXIX, going over Sheamus, “The Viper” Randy Orton and The Big Show, when the Giant turned on his partners.
Outside of officially sanctioned WWE matches, The Shield has run through dozens of WWE Superstars and talents, including The Rock, Tommy Dreamer, Sin Cara, The Miz and half the NXT locker room. They are rumored to face off against Kane and Daniel Bryan at Extreme Rules this May, with the WWE Tag Team Championships on the line.
