Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson answered dozens of questions from fans on Twitter this week to promote the release of his film “Pain & Gain”. He describes his role in the film as a “coke fueled, body building, ex-con manic” – his character’s name is Paul Doyle.
Most challenging acting role to date has been #PainAndGain Very complex character who’s f*cked up, yet has to deliver humanity.@theron_says

My diet for #PainAndGain was 7 meals a day. I played an ex-con gaining 15lbs of dense prison yard muscle. #RockTalk@youngsavage_vvv

The former WWE Champion also revealed that “Pain & Gain” director Michael Bay offered him the lead role in his new “Transformers” reboot, set to launch in 2014. Due to The Rock’s commitment to “Hercules” he had to turn down the film – likely the most mainstream exposure of his movie career – and the role went to his “Pain & Gain” co-star Mark Wahlberg.
