WrestleMania 29 was officially the highest grossing WWE event in history, WWE confirmed in a press release this afternoon.

The show, held on Sunday April 7 at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey, attracted a sold-out crowd of 80,676 fans from all over the US and around the world, amounting to $72 million in revenue. The show is also expected to have once again exceeded one million global pay-per-view buys.

WrestleMania 30 is set to take place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 6, 2014.
