TNA held a press conference at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas this Wednesday to promote the arrival of Impact Wrestling on June 29th. Tickets for the event go on sale to the general public this Friday, May 17th but are available online right now using the special promo code, “HOGAN”. A special VIP package with meet-and-greet events will be available through ImpactWrestling.com.
Jeremy Borash, TNA executive Mike Webber, Hotel executives and LVCVA Host Committee Chairman Oscar Goodman were on hand to promote Impact Wrestling at their venue, and it was announced that two television tapings will take place that Saturday, set to air on July 4th and 11th.
X-Division Champion Kenny King – a Vegas native – came out to promote the TNA roster and excite his hometown crowd. He was followed by the “Immortal” Hulk Hogan, who put over the event, and praised King:
“When he first came in I didn’t know what to expect. Just to let you know how intense this ‘fake wrestling’ is, in his first match he got knocked out on his feet … now he’s the champion. I kind of want to start managing him, so I can pick up that extra money on the side.”
In a short Q&A session after the press conference, Hogan was addressed by a fan who attended Halloween Havoc, to witness his match with the Ultimate Warrior, to which the Hall of Famer laughingly said, “Remember when I talked about having a bad match here in Vegas? I didn’t want to say anything, but that was it brother. That has been the only one that was bad in Vegas – maybe the worst I’ve ever had. That was a tough one.”
