In a new report from PWInsider, it was noted that Sting has flown out of New York City to Chicago for an appearance at a Wizard World event.
This would seemingly kill rumors of an appearance by the former WCW Icon at WWE “SummerSlam,” especially since many thought he may could involved in those “Big” plans which were reported for the “Monday Night Raw” after the pay-per-view.
Sting could have easily interfered in the Undertaker’s match against Brock Lesnar, setting up a bout for the two at WrestleMania 32, which will take place in Arlington, Texas, on April 3, 2016.
For nearly two decades, fans have awed over the thought of a match between Undertaker and Sting, with the dream encounter having a strong chance of taking place next year in the Lone Star State. Unfortunately, until we see him step inside the squared circle again, there’s really no way of knowing what his future plans truly are.
If Sting is in Chicago, it really does diminish the chances of a confrontation between the two this Sunday. It’s not entirely implausible, though, as a flight from Chicago to New York isn’t very long.
Editor’s Note:
While having Sting at “SummerSlam” would be a HUGE draw for WWE, I personally wouldn’t mind seeing a clean finish to Taker/Brock, and having a Sting appearance the next night on “Raw”.
