WWE Intercontinental Champion Ryback is advertised for the Aug. 11 Smackdown tapings in Portland, Oregon. While WWE.com is advertising Ryback for the event, however, the card is always subject to change.
Ryback has missed nearly a month of competition after
suffering a staph infection in his knee prior to the Battleground PPV. Ryback won the Intercontinental Title at the Elimination Chamber PPV after former champion Daniel Bryan had to vacate the title due to injury.
However, it was reported that Ryback was going to appear at the July 27 edition of Monday Night Raw, but never made an appearance on the broadcast. “The Big Guy” recently updated the WWE Universe with an Instagram picture showcasing his knee. While he didn’t say any timetable for his return fans got a close look at the injury.
So if Ryback does indeed make an appearance, he will most likely be put back in the program with Big Show and Miz. Ryback was originally supposed to face Big Show and Miz at Battleground, but due to his injury the match will take place at Summerslam.
Editor’s Note
Ryback is NEEDED back on TV in order to keep the IC Title somewhat relevant, hopefully the match at Summerslam helps restore some glory to the strap.
