The Royal Rumble is here! It’s finally time to kick off WrestleMania season, and WWE’s doing it with one of their biggest pay-per-views ever, live from the Alamodome in San Antonio. We’ve got titles on the line, and a huge Royal Rumble main event featuring the likes of Undertaker, Goldberg, and Brock Lesnar.
Of course, the biggest match of the night is the aforementioned Royal Rumble itself. There’s a lot to break down, so let’s just list it out.
Here’s every entrant into the Rumble:
- Big Cass
- Chris Jericho
- Kalisto
- Mojo Rawley
- Jack Gallagher
- Mark Henry
- Braun Strowman
- Sami Zayn
- Big Show
- Tye Dillinger
- James Ellsworth
- Dean Ambrose
- Baron Corbin
- Kofi Kingston
- The Miz
- Sheamus
- Big E
- Rusev
- Cesaro
- Xavier Woods
- Bray Wyatt
- Apollo Crews
- Randy Orton
- Dolph Ziggler
- Luke Harper
- Brock Lesnar
- Enzo Amore
- Goldberg
- Undertaker
- Roman Reigns
As you might expect, the sudden appearance of Roman at #30 drew a heated reaction from the crowd–especially when he became the one to eliminate the Undertaker. It was an obvious place for obvious boos, so we have to wonder if it was intentional–was that truly a heel turn for Reigns?
The ultimate winner of the match, Randy Orton, certainly got a massive reaction when he last eliminated Reigns for the victory. Expect a Wyatt championship win soon, setting up Orton versus Wyatt at WrestleMania.
Other notables? Harper turned on the Wyatt Family, and tried to deliver a Sister Abigail to Bray before being RKOed. Tye Dillinger, just as we all hoped, debuted at 10 for a massive reaction. Strowman was eliminated relatively early in the match after a dominating performance, thanks to the combined efforts of a number of other superstars.
Oh, and of course, Kofi:
The two big men, Goldberg and Lesnar? Goldberg took out the Beast just as easily as he did at Survivor Series, before being blindsided by the Undertaker.
The biggest surprise was a lack of surprises, without anticipated NXT debuts like Samoa Joe, and no unannounced returns.
