There’s no hyperbole when you say that Shinsuke Nakamura is one of the greatest wrestlers in the world. He’s a world class athlete and charismatic character. Until a year ago he–along with AJ Styles–was the biggest active name outside of WWE.
But now that he’s in WWE, he’s had to have an extended stay in NXT–ostensibly the company’s developmental brand. Nakamura is a far bigger star than that, and his transition to the main roster was inevitable, but we certainly thought it would come sooner than this.
Yet a new bit of promotional material for NXT’s upcoming UK tour has people speculating all over again that Nakamura will be out of the yellow brand very soon.
UK… #AreYouReady? @WWENXT goes across the pond for #NXTLIVE & @DownloadFest from June 5-11. Tickets on sale FRIDAY at 10am GMT. #WeAreNXT pic.twitter.com/r0hY8NVD53

That poster features many of NXT’s top stars, including Bobby Roode, Kassius Ohno, and Tye Dillinger, but Nakamura–the true top dog of NXT–is nowhere to be seen. Venues are also not advertising an appearance from Shinsuke.
There are two major possibilities. The exciting one is that Nakamura will be out of NXT and on the main roster at that point. It’s worth noting that he’s advertised for many NXT events after WrestleMania, but his name hasn’t appeared after the April Raw-branded Payback show, or the May SmackDown-branded Backlash.
The less exciting outcome of all this would be that Shinsuke is simply holding down the local circuit of Florida house shows while the rest of the brand goes on tour. Given that this tour lasts a mere five days, however, that seems exceedingly unlikely.
Think we’ll get the King of Strong Style on the main roster soon? It seems he “really wants” WrestleMania, but that doesn’t seem to be in the cards this year. Let us know what you think in the comments below, or on Facebook!
