We’re six days away from the Royal Rumble, and WWE’s biggest stars hit Raw tonight in preparation for the huge match at the Alamodome. Will we see any last minute surprises before Sunday’s show?
Headlining Raw is an appearance from Goldberg, and you can bet Brock Lesnar won’t be far. WWE’s official preview doesn’t mention it, but Lesnar is advertised alongside Goldberg for tonight’s show. With both stars in the same place, we certainly expect a confrontation.
Beyond that, well… It’s basically business as usual. Some combination of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Sami Zayn will take on some combination of Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens, and Braun Strowman. As much as I enjoyed dorky Zayn as an off-brand Dean Ambrose in a knock-off Shield, it’s tough to imagine this going well for him.
We’ll get a few more Royal Rumble participants–we’re up to 18 now–and WWE promises (or depending on your perspective, threatens) that the cruiserweight competitors will continue fighting over the byoo-tuh-ful Alicia Fox.
Then, of course, there are Bayley and Charlotte, who are set to compete for the Women’s Championship this Sunday. I’ve got no doubt that the match at the Rumble will be great, but I also can’t deny that Bayley’s character has been flailing on the main roster. Will they find the right balance of “aw, shucks” and “legitimate competitor” tonight? Well, there’s only one way to find out.
Tonight’s Raw goes down at the Quicken Loans Arena in Clevekland, OH, broadcast live as always on the USA Network at 8PM Eastern/7PM Central. We’ll have live coverage here, on Twitter, and on Facebook, so stick with us for everything as it happens!
