Here’s a quick stat for you: only three episodes of Raw remain until WrestleMania. With three weeks remaining until the show of shows, how is WWE keeping up the momentum? With a number one contender’s match, first of all. Then there’s a planned appearance from a part-time main eventer, a possible return for one of Raw’s unluckiest stars, and at least half of an advertised double main event.
Raw is in Detroit tonight, and this will be the final show WWE broadcasts from the Joe Louis Arena, which is scheduled for redevelopment later this year. The arena is advertising a double main event for the show: Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman and Chris Jericho & Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens & Samoa Joe.
One of those two contests is likely to be an untelevised post-show match, and if I were gambling I’d expect it to be Reigns vs. Strowman.
Brock Lesnar is also scheduled for tonight’s show, and we expect him to address his attack on Goldberg, maybe beat up some midcarders, collect his check, and call it a day.
We’ve also got a number one contender’s match with Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs. Cesaro & Sheamus, with the winners heading to WrestleMania to take on Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson for the titles.
Finally–and you can file this one squarely in the “rumor” category–there’s reason to believe Finn Balor might appear on tonight’s show. He returned to the ring at a live event this weekend, and will reportedly be backstage at Raw tonight. A return for the Demon? It’s WrestleMania season, so anything is possible.
Raw broadcasts live as always on the USA Network at 8PM Eastern/7PM Central. We’ll have live coverage of everything as it happens, so stick around for all the latest!
