No jokes to be made here–this one’s just ugly. The latest NXT tapings wrapped up yesterday, among other things confirming Samoa Joe’s opponent for NXT Takeover: San Antonio.
That’s not the only action that went down, however.
The Authors of Pain, recent winners of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, went into battle with a pair of local competitors. Predictably, the match was a quick squash, but the apparent (though unconfirmed) concussion that ended the bout was anything but predictable.
One half of the jobber tandem was on the mat when Akam powerbombed his partner on top of him. Unfortunately, the move’s aim was a little bit off, and the two heads of the local talent violently connected.
WWE is (understandably) ensuring that video of the event is scarce. Here’s one clip, as long as it lasts.

I’m not sure we can quite call the injured competitor “okay,” but it seems he was able to make it out of the arena with a bit of help.

The match was ended by the stoppage, with reports saying the Authors of Pain cut a promo saying they’re coming for the tag titles at Takeover.
It’s tough to say who’s at fault for the injury here, but we hope the young man affected suffers no lasting problems.
