An appearance by top UFC star Conor McGregor has been one of the long-running rumors in the lead-up to WrestleMania 33. In a recent podcast appearance with ESPN (transcribed by the Wrestling Observer), McGregor’s agent Audi Attar addressed those rumors head on.
“I think it’s all about business, man,” he said. “If they’re going to come with an offer, we’re willing to entertain it. We’re here. So, have their people call his people — which is me. And we can have a conversation.” Attar clarified that there hadn’t been any direct conversations with WWE, but they’re obviously aware of the rumors.
Asked if a potential appearance could involve physicality or even an actual match, Attar replied that would depend on how big WWE’s potential offer would be.
The thought of McGregor in WWE first started circulating when the UFC star insulted most of the current roster in a big conference call ahead of UFC 202 in August. Those rumors intensified when Triple H appeared at UFC 205 earlier this month, offering praise to McGregor on Twitter and in various interviews.

McGregor would not be the first combat athlete to get out of MMA and into the squared circle. Ken Shamrock helped to popularize UFC, and was a major star in WWE. More recently, Brock Lesnar has seen tremendous success in both arenas. And, of course, Ronda Rousey’s eventual appearance in a WWE ring is a long-standing point of speculation, especially given her recorded respect for the wrestling business.
