TM-61 is an NXT team that feels like they’re almost there. They have solid matches and the two have charisma, but something about them just isn’t clicking yet. Now it seems it will be even longer before they find their way.
We mentioned in an earlier article that TM-61 is in line for a repackaging that’s been delayed because of that injury. Now we’ve got a few more details on how that injury took place, and what the Australian tandem is missing out on as a result.
According to the Wrestling Observer (subscription required), Shane Thorne will be undergoing surgery for a knee injury sustained at the recent NXT tapings which will put him out of action for several months. TM-61 was scheduled for a “significant” program with the Revival, who have proven to be the perfect foils for NXT’s hottest babyface teams, helping to make stars of Enzo & Cass, American Alpha, and #DIY.
The Revival will need a new team to work with, and with both #DIY and Authors of Pain likely tied up in a title match at Takeover, options are limited.
WrestlingInc reports that Thorne’s injury was sustained in a match with the Revival that is scheduled to air on January 25th, shortly before Takeover: San Antonio. The match ended quickly with an injury angle–which is speculated to be a cover for the actual knee injury.
