It looks like a long running feud will finally be coming to a head at WWE “SummerSlam.”
WWE has confirmed that Dolph Ziggler will go one-on-one with Rusev at “The Biggest Party of the Summer” this Sunday, live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

During the Aug. 17 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” Rusev faced off in a match with Mark Henry, with Lana on commentary. After making Henry submit, Lana got in the ring, calling out Summer Rae. Lana then laid out Summer Rae, which led to her calling Rusev into the ring. This turned out to be a trap, as a returning Ziggler superkicked Rusev out of the ring.

This will be the first match between these two since the feud began. Shortly after WWE “Payback,” Rusev suffered a broken ankle, forcing him out of action for several weeks. Upon Rusev’s return to in-ring action back in July, he brutally attacked Ziggler with his crutches, putting him out of action indefinitely. As previously reported, the reason for this brutal attack was to write Ziggler off television while he filmed the WWE Studios film “6:42.”
Editor’s Note:
I understand what WWE was trying to do by splitting up Rusev and Lana. On paper, a feud between Ziggler and Rusev should have worked, but nobody is a winner in this feud. Obviously, Rusev getting injured prolonged this feud WAY longer than probably most of us would have liked. Don’t get me wrong, I am a fan of both of these men as performers, and I am sure the match will be high quality; but for both men’s sake, they need to end this and go their separate ways.
