A new piece from The Boston Herald has provided WWE’s thoughts about Nelson Frazier’s wrongful death lawsuit that stands against them. As previously reported, Frazier’s wife and attorney filed the suit against WWE earlier this year, stating that his time spent portraying Mabel, Viscera, and Big Daddy V for the company ultimately led to his death in 2014.

Cassandra Frazier hired attorney Konstantine Kyros, who filed a class-action lawsuit against WWE for “failing to protect talents against brain injuries” earlier in 2015, to handle her husband’s case and file against the company on the one-year anniversary of Viscera’s death. Frazier and Kyros are trying to blame WWE for the physical and emotional destruction of Big Daddy V, claiming the numerous concussions he suffered in the ring led to him being mentally unable to continue life to the fullest. However, the Coroner report claims that Frazier passed away on Feb. 18, 2014 from a massive heart attack.

WWE attorney Jerry McDevitt was interviewed by The Boston Herald on the matter. McDevitt claimed that the company will likely “seek sanctions” against Kyros for bringing the before mentioned lawsuits against WWE. Their opinion of Kyros is small, as they believe he is merely looking to make money off of tragic situations that they had no part in causing.

McDevitt also comments on how WWE provides health and wellness services for all performers that have performed under the WWE banner, even when they are no longer with the company. He says,

“They just ignore these things and allege whatever they feel like alleging. You can’t do that as a lawyer. You have to be basing your allegations on a reasonable investigation of the facts. It’s not some creative writing exercise to see if you can get media attention.

It’s an embarrassment to be a lawyer sometimes. It’s ridiculous that someone can … try to blame someone because a gentleman with a weight problem died of a heart attack in the shower eight years after he last performed. It’s ridiculous to try and blame someone for that.”

Editor’s Note:

Wow. Good for WWE. This lawsuit is ridiculous. Also, what kind of ring name is Konstatine Kyros. That guy should be wrestling, not practicing law.
