WWE has officially “future endeavored” Luis Ignascio Urive Alvirde, who was the original man to portray the character of Sin Cara for the company. As we previously reported, Hunico has replaced Alvirde (Mistico) under the Sin Cara garb and will continue to run with the character as long as the company wishes.

WWE’s official statement in regards to Alvirde reads as such,

“WWE has come to terms on the release of Luis Ignacio Urive Alvirde effective on March 26, 2014. We wish Luis the best of luck in his future endeavors.”

Alvirde, who confirmed that he was no longer working as Sin Cara on Twitter before WWE acknowledged the switch, has been working for a Puerto Rican promotion since he was replaced by Hunico. Earlier reports claimed Alvirde knew his time with the company was coming to an end whenever his contract was up and fully expected to be let go this year.
