WWE has released a detailed report which outlines their entire financial earnings for the Second Quarter of 2014. In the report it is announced that only 700,000 people have subscribed to the WWE Network, which is considered incredibly low for the company.
Previously, the company had projected that they hoped to be at 1 million subscribers by this time in 2014. However, they are still 30,000 people away from hitting this number. The report does claim that the WWE Network will be available international beginning on Aug. 12, and they are hoping that international sales will help them break even by 2015.
While countries like Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mexico, and Spain will be able to access and subscribe to the Network on Aug. 12, other foreign countries such as the United Kingdom will have to wait until a later date. The UK is expected to have access to the WWE Network in October of 2014, while Germany, Italy, UAE, Japan, India, China, and Malaysia will likely not see the Network become available to them until 2015.
A low domestic number of subscribers was predicted by a researcher on July 30, who claimed the actual count could be as low as 700,000, which is currently viewed as a flop in America. Any number short of 900,000 was to be considered a negative number in the company’s outlook on WWE Network figures.
