In response to reports announcing that New Jersey’s IZOD Center will be closing its doors come Jan. 31, WWE comments on moving “SummerSlam” to a new venue. As previously reported, “SummerSlam” 2015 was set to be held in the 34 year-old arena prior to this announcement.

The event and all the fanfare that goes with it is scheduled to take place during the weekend of Aug. 23 in the NY/NJ area. With the IZOD Center closing, many immediately questioned where WWE would be moving the annual Summer PPV.

It seems as if the company doesn’t even know where they will be moving “SummerSlam” to just yet, as their statement regarding the matter is awfully vague.

“WWE is currently looking at alternatives and we’re confident we will come up with an equivalent to or better option.”

The PPV was held in the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California for years leading up to the move to New Jersey. With WrestleMania 31 being held in California, it’s believed that the company wanted to hold “SummerSlam” in a different market.

Editor’s Note:
Gotta believe tickets were expected to go on-sale soon. They better make adjustments quickly.
