A World Heavyweight Championship match has been confirmed for the WWE’s September PPV, Night of Champions. Rob Van Dam will face World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio for the coveted title.
The match was announced Monday night on RAW after Van Dam earned the Number-One Contender position by pinning Del Rio in a singles match. With the help of a distraction from his new ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez, Van Dam was able to roll-up Del Rio for the one, two, three.
Many believe that Rodriguez, who used to be the ring announcer for Del Rio, will play a major part in the outcome of this match on September 15th at Night of Champions.
