New reports have provided an update on an upcoming physical WWE Hall of Fame location. As previously reported, WWE has been looking for a home for their physical Hall of Fame for some time now.
WWE has repeatedly claimed that if they were to build a physical tourist-trap version of a Hall of Fame, that it would likely take up residence in Orlanda, Florida. Mock-up drawings of what a physical Hall of Fame would look like were even manufactured for a magazine spread in 2014.
Former reports claimed that the Hall of Fame may set-up shop in Orlando, Florida at Universal Studios, courtesy of NBCUniversal and their investment/television deal with WWE, and it seems as if this may actually be happening, but in the form of a restaurant, as was reported here in September 2013. Universal Studios officially announced this week that they are closing NBA City at Universal’s CityWalk.
According to BehindTheThrills.com, Universal Studios is set to announce a new concept for the space in August. The report also claims that Universal Studios may be putting in a Cheesecake Factory restaurant, a movie-set themed restaurant, and a WWE Hall of Fame restaurant in the open space.
This would mean that if the reports are true, WWE would be venturing back into the restaurant business, as they previously attempted in New York City in the early 2000s. It would also mean that their physical WWE Hall of Fame would be in the style of a Planet Hollywood or Hard Rock Cafe style eatery.
Editor’s Note:
This would be interesting. I wonder if we’ll get confirmation on this one in a couple of months.
