Ryback’s “injury” may be storyline driven. As previously reported, it was announced during the Aug. 26 edition of WWE “Main Event” that Ryback is currently injured and will be out-of-action for a few weeks. However, this may not be the case, at least according to a new report from PWInsider.com.

The website claims that Ryback’s injury may be storyline driven and not legitimate. Sources within WWE told PWInsider that Ryback is not injured and was not actually expected to take time off. They also claim that this could all be being done to separate Curtis Axel and Ryback in order to push Ryback in singles matches upon his “return.”

Ryback noted on Twitter (before deleting the tweet in true Ryback fashion) that he needed to leave and get some things fixed on Aug. 25 during “Monday Night Raw,” which neither he or Axel appeared on.

Many are saying not only was this Ryback’s way of beginning the kayfabe injury angle, but it was also a slight at CM Punk, and a nod to a return to singles compeition. Ryback was to drop Punk through a table off the stage in a spot during their feud in late 2012. However, the spot was botched and Ryback guided Punk off the stage and onto the floor, which injured the then WWE Champion.

Speculation continues on what this tweet means, and whether Ryback is actually injured. WrestlingRumors.net will keep you up-to-date on the status of “The Big Guy.”

Editor’s Note:
These stories are getting ridiculous. Ryback ALWAYS manages to get the Internet interested in him…only to fail at getting any crowd besides his hometown behind him. Let’s see what happens.
