A new report from F4Wonline.com has provided an update on the return of Dean Ambrose. Ambrose, who has not been seen on WWE television since the Aug. 18 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” is being advertised by WWE to be returning to action on Sept. 22.

As previously reported, Ambrose was written off of television the night after “SummerSlam” due to his involvement with WWE Studios’ upcoming film, “Lockdown.” Ambrose was Curb Stomped through a stack of cinderblocks by rival Seth Rollins following their match during the Aug. 18 edition of “RAW,” and then deemed “missing” be WWE personnel and officials.

Ambrose’s last official day of shooting for the upcoming film is slated for Sept. 20, just one day before WWE “Night Of Champions.” While WWE is advertising Ambrose’s “Monday Night Raw” return for Sept. 22, he may actually return one night prior during the PPV.

A previous advertisement for “Night Of Champions” had Ambrose teaming up with former Shield brethren Roman Reigns to take on Kane and Rollins during the event, but the ad has since been removed. Currently, singles matches between Rollins and Reigns and Chris Jericho and Randy Orton exist on the card, which would mean a tag match would have to be added during the PPV if the originally advertised match is to take place.

With the Internet constantly getting the drop on several WWE returns this year, it’s rumored that the company would like to have Ambrose return as a shock factor, leading to a tag match being made in the process during “Night Of Champions.” This is likely why the initial advertisement promoting Ambrose for the PPV, which originally ran on the Bridgestone Arena’s website, was removed.

However, WWE could merely use Ambrose as a thorn in Rollins’ side either during his match with Reigns at the PPV, or later on in the show if Rollins were to try and cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase following the WWE World Heavyweight Championship bout featuring Brock Lesnar and John Cena. “Night Of Champions” will emanate from the Bridgestone Arena on Sept. 21.

Editor’s Note:
The faster he can return, the better. WWE TV desperately needs his energy and charisma.
