WWE.com has provided an update on Kane’s “injury” that he suffered at the hands of Brock Lesnar during the July 13 edition of “Monday Night Raw.” During the final segment of the show, which was a contract signing between Lesnar and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins for their match at WWE “Battleground” on July 19, Kane tried to best Lesnar, resulting in Lesnar F-5’ing the Big Red Machine, then slamming Kane’s ankle with the steel ring steps.
Lesnar had previously injured (both actually and in storyline) Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury, leaving Kane as the only member of The Authority that was able to try and help protect Rollins. Kane told Rollins that he had a plan for the final segment, and that if it didn’t work, it wouldn’t be good for one, or both of them.
After Lesnar attacked Kane’s ankle, Rollins then told Kane he no longer need him and that he was a worthless piece of crap, kicking him in his injured area. WWE.com claims that Lesnar broke Kane’s ankle, and that he will not be able to do much for a while, as he is out-of-action indefinitely.
This angle was done to remove all other members of The Authority from Rollins’ side, forcing him to face Lesnar alone at “Battleground” on July 19. Rollins has held the WWE World Heavyweight Championship since WrestleMania 31, much in-part to the help of J & J Security, Kane, and Big Show interfering in his matches.
Rumors have been running rampant about Authority head Triple H having a match with Rollins at WWE “SummerSlam” on Aug. 23, which would seemingly mean that Rollins would lose the WWE World Heavyweight gold to Lesnar on July 19. Without any assistance to help him save his championship reign, Rollins could blame Triple H and Stephanie McMahon for bringing in Lesnar as his next opponent, sending him into a rage, desiring a one-on-one encounter with The Game on Aug. 23.
Editor’s Note:
Looks like Seth’s all alone on Sunday. Guess we all see where THIS is going, eh?
