Fan reports from the Crown Complex in Fayetteville, NC, which is the arena where “Smackdown” was tapped on July 15, have provided an update on the condition of Seth Rollins. As previously reported, it appeared as if Rollins suffered a knee injury during the July 14 edition of “Monday Night Raw.” While some websites have refuted this claim and stated that Rollins was just working the crowd and faking the injury, the manner in which the incident was handled and new on-sight fan reports claim otherwise.

WrestlingRumors.net follower Lynard Skinner, @SkinDogg22 on Twitter, sent in this report from on-location of the July 15 “Smackdown” tapings,

During the “Smackdown” tapings themselves, Rollins claimed that he was not cleared to wrestle on the show. However, he would get physical during the main event, laying Ambrose out with a Curb Stomp on the steel ring steps to close out the program.

It’s believed that Rollins did experience some pain during “Monday Night Raw,” and WWE medical staff took proper precautions with him in case the injury was in fact serious. However, the injury is not as bad as initially thought, and the company is just going to now use Rollins’ misfortune as storyline, as will be evident during the July 18 edition of “Smackdown.” Rollins would not be Curb Stomping Ambrose if he was not cleared to perform.

Rollins was also seen limping heavily to his vehicle following the July 14 “Monday Night Raw” event. While the injury may not be as severe as Rollins may have initially thought upon feeling pain, the referee called for doctors with an “x” symbol during the broadcast, and the cameras stayed away from Rollins for the remainder of the show.

Ambrose, Rollins’ opponent in five days on at the July 20 “Battleground” event, was taken out of action during the opening segment of the July 14 broadcast. It is believed that he was supposed to run in and attack Rollins to separate the Money in the Bank winner from the other four guys that would be in the Fatal 4 Way WWE World Heavyweight Championship match, but Ambrose was never called to run-in because Rollins was perceived by the staff to be injured.

WWE.com has yet to comment on the injury, aside from saying that Rollins “tweaking” his knee removed him from the main event of “RAW” before the match was over. This comment was made during the site’s recap of the entire show. Rollins and Ambrose are still set to face each other in a Singles Match at WWE “Battleground” on July 20.

Editor’s Note:
I totally believe that Rollins initially thought the injury was bad, but it must not have been, otherwise he wouldn’t have been Curb Stomping ANYONE during the “Smackdown’ tapings.
