The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided some insight as to why the Traditional Money in the Bank Ladder Match, which will take place at the “Money In The Bank” PPV on June 29, was not announced during the June 16 edition of “Monday Night Raw.” According to the report, the announcement was held off the show due to the Qualifying Battle Royal that was held on the show.
The Qualifying Battle Royal was held to determine the man that would join Randy Orton, Cesaro, Sheamus, Bray Wyatt, Alberto Del Rio, and John Cena in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Ladder Match at “Money In The Bank.” Roman Reigns would go on to be victorious in the Battle Royal and secure a spot in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Ladder Match on June 29. However, it was the involvement of the other superstars that hindered the announcement of a Traditional Money in the Bank Ladder Match at the PPV.
WWE officials did not want to announce the match on the same night as the Battle Royal because many of those featured in said Battle Royal will also be the competitors in the Traditional Money in the Bank Ladder Match on June 29. Superstars like Big E, Rusev, Bo Dallas, Bad News Barrett, and Rob Van Dam are all being considered for inclusion in the match.
WWE decided to have Seth Rollins announce the second Ladder Match for the event during the June 17 edition of “WWE Main Event.” While Rollins is the only confirmed entrant in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match currently, Dean Ambrose is expected to be competing in the match as well. The rest of the participants in this match will be announced during the June 23 edition of “Monday Night Raw.”
Editor’s Note:
I’m stoked for both Ladder Matches. We get a briefcase on a budding superstar and a new champion in the same night. Bet!
